Musical Director

In 2008 long-standing principal cornet player, Lorraine Rogers was appointed as Musical Director.

Lorraine is currently a Primary School Teacher and gained her B.ED Hons (Music) in 1995 at Plymouth University.

Lorraine joined Reading Spring Gardens Brass Band as a cornet player in 1987 , starting off on the back row and quickly moved by then conductor Ted Watkins to the front row. She successfully passed her grade 8 trumpet exam at the age of 15. For many years she remained on the front row alongside Jo Smith and Ray Lawrence and after finishing her degree she was promoted to principal cornet and played in this position until 2008. During this time Lorraine married Ian who she met in the band and they now have 2 children (Will and Lucy).
